Laguiole XS 9 cm Classic Burled Beech End Grain

The Laguiole XS 9 cm represents the ultimate expression of the "Gentleman’s knife"—compact, sophisticated, and engineered for those who appreciate discreet luxury. This small and elegantly designed pen knife incorporates a precision lock back mechanism to ensure that the blade locks securely when in use. A Fontenille Pataud masterpiece, it features a traditionally forged bee and a smooth, classic spring, markers of a knife crafted with absolute precision by a single master artisan in the heart of France.

Individual Photography: Because end-grain wood reveals the internal growth rings and complex cellular structure of the burl, the visual pattern is incredibly intricate and impossible to replicate. We provide high-resolution photography for each piece; the knife pictured is the exact one you will receive. This ensures that the specific mosaic-like grain and organic detailing you select are exactly what will arrive for your collection.

Handle Character: This model is adorned with scales of genuine Burled Beech End Grain. Unlike traditional side-grain cuts, the "end grain" orientation slices across the tree's growth rings, showcasing a stunning, porous "honeycomb" or "stippled" aesthetic. The natural burling of the Beech wood further complicates this pattern with erratic swirls and clusters of tiny eyes. This orientation is highly prized for its exceptional compressive strength and its ability to display the raw, hypnotic architectural heart of the timber. The result is a handle with immense visual depth and a uniquely warm, organic texture.
